Reductive removal of sulphur acid and its acidic derivs from reaction mixts. and pdts. by treating with an unsatd. terpene cpd, at a sufficiently elevated temp. without using a washing or neutralising process is improved if a polydiolefin or one of its reaction pdts. contg. polydiolefin units is used instead of the unsatd. terpene cpd. The polydiolefin is pref polybutadiene with an ave mol wt 15,000. Amt of polydiolefin is 2-10 times the amt of sulphuric acid in the mixt.
