Abstract
Polymers made by reaction of sec. -amino s-triazine cyanamides of formula (II): (in which B and D are -O-, -S-, -NH-, -NR-, -X-Q-Ay- or a direct bond; R is an alkyl, aryl or heterocyclic gp.; Q is an organic gp. e.g., arylene, alkylene and/or heterocyclic gp.; y is 0-4; A and X are -O-, -S-, -NH-, -Nr- or a direct bond; a is 1, 2 or 3; b and c are 0, 1 or 2 and a+b+c is 3), with an organic cpd. (E) contg. -XH and/or -AH gps. in which X and a are not both direct bonds, (i.e., with an amine, thiol, phenol or cyanuric acid), are used as moulding powders, laminating resins and adhesives. The polymers may be viscous fluids, rubbery solids or rigid solids with high Tg and m.pts.
