Abstract

[Also in Divisions C2 and C3] Laminates comprise at least two structural members bonded together by an adhesive comprising 5-95% by wt. of an epoxy resin and 95-5% by wt. of a novel adduct of H 2 S and a multiaziridino compound having the formula X-(A 3 ) n or X-(Y-A 3 ) n in which X is a n-valent aliphatic or aromatic radical or the group >N-R<SP>1</SP> (where R<SP>1</SP> is hydrogen, hydrocarbon, -A 3 or -Y-A 3 ), A 3 is a group of the formula where R<SP>2</SP> is a divalent hydrocarbon radical and R 3 is hydrogen or a C 1-18 hydrocarbon group, Y is -O.CO-, -R<SP>2</SP>-O.CO- or -NHCO.OR<SP>2</SP>-O.CO-, when X is a n-valent aliphatic or aromatic radical, or Y is -R<SP>2</SP>-O.CO- when X is =NR<SP>1</SP>. The adhesives are particularly useful for metal-to-metal bonding. In Examples 1 and 7 steel/steel and steel/fibreglass reinforced polyester sheets are laminated using an adhesive based on the polyglycidyl ether of 2,2-bis-(4- hydroxyphenyl)propane and an H 2 S-aziridino adduct which is heat cured with or without applied pressure.
