Claims (13)

HOE 75/F 056 K What Is claimed la:
1. ) A process for the manufacture of a filament yarn with Individual filament ends standing out, wherein a filament yarn consisting at least partially of filaments having a bending-breaking-stress stability of less than about 1,500 cycles is subjected to a transverse stress whereby the filaments having a bending-breaking-stress stability below 1 , 00 cycles break at irregular intervals , and optionally the protruding filament ends thus obtained are interlaced at least temporarily to improve the filament- bonding.
2. ) The process of claim 1, wherein the starting filament yarn is false twisted, texturized and optionally drawn in a false twist texturlzlng device whereby the filaments having a bending-breaking-stress stability below 1 , 00 cycles break under the transverse stress in the twisting zone.
3. ) The process of claim 1, wherein the transverse stress is exercized by imparting a twist to the filament yarn.
4. ) The process of claim 1, wherein the filament yarn is subjected to a treatment to improve the filament-bonding and then the transverse stress is exercized by turning the starting filament yarn round a thread guide of small diameter.
5. ) The process of claim 1, wherein the starting filament yam consists at least partially of filaments of a fiber forming synthetic high polymer.
6. ) The process of claim 1, wherein at least part of the starting filament yarn consists of filaments having a bending-breaking-stress stability of less than about HOE 73/F 056 g 1,000 cycles.
7. ) The process of claim 1 , wherein at least part of the filaments have a bending-breaking-stress stability of less than about 500 cycles.
8. ) The process of claim 5, wherein the filament yarn consists of fiber forming high molecular polyesters.
9. ) The process of claim 1, wherein the starting filament yarn is an undrawn or partially drawn yarn of spun filaments of a fiber forming synthetic high polymer which is simultaneously drawn and texturized in a drawing and false twist text- urizing device.
10. ) The process of claim 2, wherein the false twist texturiz- ation is carried out with the aid of a false twist spindle.
11. ) A bulky filament yarn with individual filament ends standing out consisting at least partially of filaments having a bending-breaking-stress stability of less than 1,500 cycles.
12. ) The bulky filament yarn as claimed in claim 11, wherein the filaments consist of high molecular weight polyethylene terephthalate.
13. ) A substantially smooth filament yarn with individual filament ends standing out consisting at least partially of filaments having a bending-breaking-stress stability of less than 1,500 cycles. 1 ) A substantially smooth filament yarn as claimed in claim 13, wherein the filaments consist of high molecular weight polyethylene terephthalate.
