Abstract

The easy fill indicator lights are two coloured lights attached to the header of the harvester and controlled from the cab of the harvester by the operator. The harvester operates at a constant speed, in turn the harvester operater can now signal to the tractor/trailer driver to speed up or slow down enabling the trailer to be at the required position for even distribution of the crop and maximum load capacity.

Description

Title Easy Fill Indicator Lights IE 0909 13 Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an attachement for a self propelled harvester.
Background of the Invention During the harvesting of crops communication between harvester operator and tractor/trailer operator is vital but unfortunately is limited. Maximum output of the harvester is extremely important to owner.
The harvester operator needs to ensure that there is: • no wastage of crops due to spilage • the chute of the harvester is fixed in a set position elimating tower or motor damage • maximum loads are passed to the trailer · time is used appropriately • Fuel is kept to a minimum • Engine runs at a ecomonical pace The tractor/ trailer operator needs to know when to speed up or slow down to ensure the crop is evenly distributed and the trailer is fullly loaded. The most common form of communication between the harvester and tractor / trailer operator used is hand signals which is very ineffective.
Statement of Invention The Easy Fill Indicator Lights are two rotating becons (1, 2) which are mounted on the header of the self-propelled harvester and are controlled from a forward back switch (6) placed on the main joy-pad of the harvestor. As mentioned, maximum output is of most importance. The Easy Fill Indicator Lights enables the harvester to work at a constant pace while the tractor/trailor operator is signalled by a flashing green becon light fl) to speed up and a red becon light (2) to slow down to allow even distribution of the crop and maximum load capacity, (relates to figure 1.) IE 09 0 13 -2Brief Description of the Drawings Figure 1.
Figure 1 relates to the side-view of the invention • Two X 12 volt or 24 volt (depending on model of harvester) rotating coloured becons (1, 2) • metal frame with protective guard (3) • 5 metres electrical cable (4) ♦ One fuse box (5) • One forward / back switch (6) Figure 2.
Figure 2 relates to the Scale of Invention: • 8 = 5 inches • 9 = 12 inches • 10 = 20 inches • 11 = 12 inches • 12 = 20 inches Detailed Description of the Drawing This relates mostly to figure 1 as figure 2 shows the scale of the invention.
The protective guard (3) is assembled in a rectangular shape using metai containing a floor and an open frame, Two beacons (1,2) are placed within the protective guard (3) and attached to the floor. The junction box (5) is attached to the right side of the protective guard (3). Both wires from the beacons (1,2) are run into the junction box (5), which at a later stage can be attached to the power battery supply from the harvester machine. A 3metre cable (4) (approximately) is attached to a forward back switch (6) which is later installed in the cab area of the harvester machine and reconnected to the junction box (5).

Claims (5)

  1. Claims 65 1. The Easy Fill Indicator Lights main power source is taken from the harvester battery.
  2. 2. TheJirst fuse box is fitted within 10 inches of the battery.
  3. 3. From this the electrical cable (
  4. 4. ) is run into the cab of the harvester and connected to the forward/back switch (6). 70 4. The forward/back switch (6) is placed on the main control joypad.
  5. 5. , Then the cable (4) is run back out of the cab down onto the header where the rotating becons (1, 2} are mounted on the metal frame attached by two bolts to the left-hand side of the 75 header from the cab view.
