Abstract

The formation of a clear even film of an anaphoretic resin upon the surface of a metallic substrate has been discovered to be attainable provided that the surface to be coated is formed from nickel, stainless steel or aluminium (or anodised aluminium) and a suitable resin is deposited under carefully controlled conditions. This is especially advantageous in that the film can be dyed to produce an even colouring. The preferred resins are acrylic resins, polyester resin, modified alkyl resins or combinations thereof.
