1421787 Imidazole derivatives BEECHAM GROUP Ltd 12 Dec 1973 [1 Dec 1972 23 Feb 1973] 55506/72 and 9134/73 Heading C2C Novel imidazole derivatives of the formula wherein R 1 is acetyl or propionyl and R 2 is C 1-12 alkyl, C 2-12 alkenyl, C 3-6 cycloalkyl, C 5-6 cycloalkenyl or aromatic groups containing 1 or 2 nitrogen, sulphur or oxygen atoms, are prepared by acylating the corresponding compounds of the above formula in which R 1 is H. Pharmaceutical compositions suitable for oral or parenteral administration, contain the above novel compounds together with pharmaceutically acceptable carriers.
