Abstract

1447057 Structural joints for furniture &c. R VINCENS 7 Aug 1973 [8 Aug 1972 and 26 Jan 1973] 37382/73 Heading F2M [Also in Division E1-E2] In a building structure comprising at least one elongate support 50, Fig. 1, having a longitudinal channel 2 with an undercut rebate 3 and wherein the support receives a series of modular bridge or transverse members 150, Fig. 4, which are mounted longitudinally therein each member 150 comprises a rigid body 75 and at least two opposed side pillors 70 at least one of which is provided with at least one sharp edged lug 68 formed by a projection cut from that pillar, the connection between the members 50, 150 is such that the lugs of the pillars are concealed whilst other parts of the pillar frictionally engage the support 50. In a modification, the bridge member 152, Fig. 9, comprises a rectangular deck 76 having three rectangular basins 200 with slots 230 adapted to locate cross-bracing flanges (300-Fig. 10, not shown). The deck 76 is also provided with a locking catch 240, re-inforcing ribs 250, 251 and pillars 70 which in turn have flanks 81 profiled as shown and furnished with locking spurs 92 for fuller details of which Figs. 13, 15, 16 and 17 (not shown), should be referred to. Two units 152 may be interconnected by a member 360 having internal flanges 362, 363.
