Abstract

1,084,845. Knockdown container. E. P. CAHILL. July 5, 1966, No. 30171/66. Heading B8P. A knockdown container is formed of a number of panels connected by interlocking male and female members attached to abutting edges, and support blocks 14 on the bottom extending beyond the end edges to support the end panels 16, 18 to obscure the end edges of the bottom panel. Fig. 1 shows four containers abutted and connected together by coupling members 40, 41 engaging male coupling members on panel edges, the two top containers having curved sliding lids 28. The coupling members are extruded metal, e.g. Al or Al alloy, strips, and the panels are honeycomb expanded metal structures sandwiched between metal or plastics skins.
