Abstract
1439531 Regenerating coke containing catalyst U O P INC 29 May 1973 [30 May 1972 (2) 8 June 1972] 25365/73 Heading B1F A process for regenerating coke-contaminated particle form spent catalyst withdrawn from a hydrocarbon conversion zone comprises the steps of introducing the spent catalyst via 9 into a fluidised dense bed 1 and partially regenerating it therein by combustion of the coke with an oxygen containing regeneration gas from 11 and producing partially spent regeneration gas containing carbon monoxide passing resulting partially regenerated catalyst and partially spent regeneration gas directly from the bed 1 upwardly in a dilute phase through transport riser 2 and therein effecting further combustion of coke from the catalyst and oxidising at least a portion of the carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide e.g. with air from 18 and fuel from 20, separating catalyst and gas in cyclone 3, collecting the catalyst as a second dense bed 6 and withdrawing it at 6.
