1377104 Diamond synthesis UKRAINSKY ORDENA TRUDOVOGO KRASNOGO ZNAMENI NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY KONSTRUKTORSKO-TEKHNOLOGICHESKY INSTITUT SINTETICHESKIKH SVERKHTVERDYKH MATERIALOV I INSTRUMENTA GOSPLANA UKRAINSKOI SSR 8 Aug 1972 [13 Jan 1972] 37008/72 Heading C1A Diamond is synthesized by subjecting a mixture comprising a non-diamond carbonaceous material and a solvent comprising at least one of zinc, magnesium, a zinc compound and a magnesium compound in an amount of at least 20% of the solvent to a pressure of at least 60 k.bar at a temperature of at least 1700 C. within the range of diamond stability. The reaction mixture may also include at least one of the following ingredients: lead selenide, mercury oxide, lead, cadmium bismuth, tin, indium, antimony, thellium and aluminium.
