Abstract

1364843 Tamperproof closures VISCOSE DEVELOPMENT CO Ltd 13 Oct 1971 [19 Oct 1970] 49493/70 Heading B8T A primary closure 2 in a bottle neck 1 is rendered tamperproof by a secondary closure 4 which is shrunk about the neck 1 and which has a sensitive layer 3 between itself and the bottle which visibly changes if it contacts a solvent or softening agent used to remove the closure 4. The sensitive layer 3 may be in the form of a soluble disc (13), Fig. 3 (not shown), or a strip and is visible through a transparent panel 5 in the closure 4. Adhesives may be used to strengthen the bond between the closure 4 and bottle; a soluble adhesive is used when the closure 4 is insoluble and an insoluble adhesive is used with a soluble closure 4. The closure 4 may be provided with perforations or a tear-off strip, may be transparent, and may be formed as a ring. [GB1364843A]
