Abstract

1,271,116. Pressure chambers. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. 11 Sept, 1969 [12 Sept., 1968], No. 44822/69. Heading F4B. A furnace for treating material at elevated temperatures in a gaseous atmosphere at superatmospheric pressure (above 500 bars), comprises a pressure chamber 1, and a furnace chamber 14 within the pressure chamber which is defined by a heat-insulating sheath 13, the heat-insulating sheath comprising at least three tubular parts (20-22, Fig. 2) arranged one inside the other. The innermost tube 20 is made of a material having a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than that. of the tube (21) immediately surrounding the tube 20, e.g. the innermost tube being made of molybdenum and the tube (21) of austenitic stainless steel. The insulating sheath 13, divided into two cells (25, 26) by the three concentric metal tubes (20- 22), is filled with a fibrous thermally insulating material. [GB1271116A]
