Abstract

1,268,835. Anti-diabetic sulpha-pyrimidines. SCHERING A.G. 16 June, 1969 [27 June, 1968], No. 30406/69. Heading A5B. [Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical preparations having antidiabetic action contain as active ingredient compounds I (including salts with bases thereof) wherein R 1 and R 2 are H, halogen or C, to 4 alkyl, alkoxy or alkylmercapto, R 3 is alkyl or cycloalkyl with up to 8 carbons which may be interrupted by at least one oxygen or is alkoxy or cycloalkoxy with up to 8 carbons in which the alkyl or cycloalkyl fragment thereof may be interrupted by at least one oxygen, R 4 is H or C 1 to 4 alkyl, X signifies O, S or NH, Y is C 1 to 4 alkylene and n is 0 to 1 to 4. Bases, e.g. butyl biguanide, for salt formation may also possess a blood sugar-lowering action. Administration may be in the form of tablets, dragees, capsules, pills, suspensions or solutions.
