Abstract
1,160,448. Alkanolamine derivatives. BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM G.m.b.H. 1 Sept., 1966 [13 Jan., 1966], No. 39170/66. Heading C2C. Racemic and optically active compounds of the general formula (wherein R 1 = isopropyl or tert.-butyl, R 2 =H, halogen or methyl, R 3 , 4 = H or methyl, provided that at least one of R 2-4 is not H, and n= 1 or 2) and their acetals and salts are prepared by standard methods, e.g. reacting a compound of the formula (wherein Hal = halogen) with isopropylamine or tert.-butylamine, optionally followed by salt formation. The compounds of the invention possess #-adrenolytic, anticonvulsant and antidiabetic activity, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier or excipient.
