Abstract

1 - (31,41 - Dihydroxyphenyl). - 2 - (tert. - butylamino)-butanol and salts thereof are prepared by reducing a compound of the formula (R=H or araliphatic group) followed by removal of the araliphatic groups if still present, and optionally followed by salt formation and/or isomer separation. The starting materials may be prepared by the following routes: (Z1 = aliphatic group) and (Z2=araliphatic group). The preparation of 3,4-dibenzylozybutyrophenone is also described. The compounds of the invention have bronchospasmolytic activity, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them together with a carrier.
