Abstract

Proposed is a hammer for a hammer crusher, the hammer having, at the material-crushing end, at least one replaceable head (5) mounted in a groove (4) in the hammer (1) with play between the head and hammer, the head being secured in place with respect to the hammer by at least one locking element (20). The foot (8) of the hammer head (5) has, at the end which fits into the groove, an initially tapering and then widening cross-section, thus forming rounded surfaces (RI, RII, RIII), while the groove (4) has a matching shape. Both the bottom (6) of the groove and the foot region (7) of the hammer head (5) resting against it have a rounded, ladle-shaped section. The geometrical shape of the hammer head is substantially defined by radii whose centres of rotation (9, 10, 11) are symmetrically located on an axis (13) which cuts the hammer head centre line.
