Abstract

Predmetni izum otkriva postupak analize N-glikana vezanih na immunoglobulin G (IgG) ili IgG N-glikopeptida iz krvne plazme ljudi, u kojem se određuje kvantitativni udio dva ili više od ukupno šest glikana za koje je utvrđena visoka korelacija s dobi. Glikani su slijedećih struktura:Iz rezultata analize izračunava se Glikanski Indeks Starosti (GIS) koji je koristan u: predikciji biološke dobi ispitivane osobe; praćenju uspješnosti metoda kojima se usporava proces starenja; praćenju progresije bolesti koje se razvijaju uslijed napredovanja procesa starenja, kao što su: upalne bolesti (uključujući aterosklerozu), autoimune bolesti, tumorske bolesti, dijabetes, artritis, osteoporoza i Alzheimerova bolest; te za procjenu općeg zdravstvenog stanja organizma.
