The procedure for covering a chipboard board, especially a board with a thickness of 10 to 40 mm, which has two opposite surface layers with a surface density of more than 800 kg/m3 and a cover board strength of 8 to 12 kg/cm2, said covering includes, for each surface, a first sheet of paper in contact with the layer and a second sheet of paper placed over said first sheet, said process including pressing, characterized in that it includes the following steps: (A) placing a first sheet of paper weighing between 60 and 180 g/m2; (B) placing the first aqueous resin with a content of 30 to 60 wt. % urea-melamine-formaldehyde resin of low degree of condensation as solids; from 4 to 10 wt. % of plasticizers from the sulfonamide or polyglycol family; from 0.3 to 1 wt. % wetting agents from the group consisting of surfactants; from 0.5 to 3% wt. acid catalyst; from 0.5 to 1% mold release agent; (C) impregnation of said first sheet with said aqueous resin up to a resin content of 45 to 60 wt. % as solids and volatile content from 5 to 7 wt. % in leaf; (D) placing a second sheet of paper; (E) placing a second aqueous resin with 30 to 60 wt. % urea-melamine-formaldehyde resin of low degree of condensation as a solid substance, from 0 to 8 wt. % of plasticizers from the sulfonamide or polyglycol family; from 0.1 to 1 wt. % wetting agents from the family of surfactants; from 0.2 to 2 wt. % acid catalyst; and from 0.1 to 1 wt. % release agent from the mold; (F) impregnation of said second sheet with said second aqueous resin, up to a content of 30 to 60 wt. % resin as a solid substance and a content of 5 to 7 wt.% volatile in said second sheet; (G) forming a unit that includes in succession the first sheet of paper, the second sheet of paper, the board, the second sheet of paper, and the first sheet of paper; and (H) pressing said unit, applying a specific pressure in the range of 20 to 30 kg/cm 2 , the pressing surface in contact with the unit having a temperature in the range of 130 to 180°C for a time in the range of 30 to 80 seconds. 2.
