Claims (8)
1. Katalysator für die Dampfreformierung von Kohlenwasserstoffen, mit einem Metall aus der Gruppe VIII des periodischen Systems, Aluminiumoxid und wahlweise kleinen Mengen an Natrium und/oder Kalium in solchen Mengen, daß der Natriumgehalt weniger als 0,005 Grammatom (Na) pro 100 g des Katalysators beträgt, der Kaliumgehalt nicht mehr als 0,011 Grammatom (K) pro 100 g des Katalysators beträgt und der gesamte Alkalimetallgehalt nicht mehr als 0,011 Grammatom pro 100 g des Katalysators beträgt, hergestellt durch Mitfällung aus einer wäßrigen Lösung, die die genannten Metalle und Aluminium enthält, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die kalzinierte, aber unreduzierte Form des Katalysators folgende Merkmale aufweist:
1) Mindestens 55% des Porenvolumens jener Poren, die einen Porenradius zwischen 12 und 120 Angströmeinheiten (12.10-4 und 120.10-4 µm) haben, liegen im Bereich von 12 bis 30 Angströmeinheiten (12.10-4 bis 30.10-4 µm);
2) Das Verhältnis (Q) des Porenvolumens, das in Poren mit einem Radius von 10 bis 50 Angströmeinheiten (10.10-4 bis 50.10-4 µm) enthalten ist, zu dem Porenvolumen, das in Poren mit einem Radius von 50-300 Angströmeinheiten (50.10-4―300.10-4 µm) enthalten ist, beträgt mindestens 5;
3) das Schüttgewicht der kalzinierten, aber unreduzierten Form des Katalysators beträgt mindestens 1,2 g/ml.
2. Katalysator nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Verhältnis (Q) mindestens 10 beträgt.
, 3. Katalysator nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Katalysator ein mitgefällter Katalysator ist.
4. Katalysator nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Metall aus der Gruppe VIII Nickel ist.
5. Katalysator nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß bei der kalzinierten, aber unreduzierten Form der Nickelgehalt 57 bis 63 Gewichtsprozent des Gesamtgewichtes des Katalysators beträgt.
6. Verfahren zur Herstellung von Katalysatoren für die Dampfreformierung, bei dem eine wasserunlösliche Verbindung aus einem Metall der Gruppe VIII und Aluminiumoxid durch Mitfällung gebildet wird, indem ein Karbonat-Fällungsmittel einer gemischten Lösung von Verbindungen des Metalls aus der Gruppe VIII und Aluminiumoxid zugegeben wird, daraufhin das Fällungsprodukt gewaschen, gefiltert und kalziniert wird, um einen Vorläufer mit mindestens einem Oxid des Metalls der Gruppe VIII und Aluminiumoxid zu bilden, und schließlich der Vorläufer in die aktive Form des Katalysators reduziert wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Fällung bei einer Temperatur von nicht mehr als 60°C unter Zufügen einer wäßrigen Lösung eines Alkalimetallkarbonats zu der genannten gemischten Lösung durchgeführt wird und daß danach die Temperatur des gebildeten Fällungsproduktes auf nicht mehr als 60°C während mindestens des Waschens und Filterns gehalten wird.
7. Verfahren nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Fällungsprodukt nach dem Filtern und vor dem Kalzinieren getrocknet wird.
8. Verfahren nach Anspruch 6 oder 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Katalysator vor oder nach dem Kalzinieren geformt wird.
