Abstract
Αλκοολούχο ποτό υψηλής ποιότητας, που παράγεται από αλκοολική ζύμωση διαλύματος μελιού σε νερό, όπου η περιεχόμενη αλκοόλη προέρχεται εξ ολοκλήρου από ζύμωση, με ελκυστικό μελί ανοικτό έως σκούρο χρώμα, σύνθετο άρωμα και επίγευση μελιού. Παράγεται με προετοιμασία διαλύματος μελιού σε νερό, το οποίο υπόκειται σε αλκοολική ζύμωση σε αναερόβιες συνθήκες από στελέχη ζυμών του γένους Saccharomyces, διαυγάζεται με διήθηση και ωριμάζει για 3 τουλάχιστον μήνες σε θερμοκρασία περιβάλλοντος. Πίνεται ως ορεκτικό, χωνευτικό και ηδύποτο.
