Abstract

A system of metal moulding for door and window fixtures, featuring a distinctly recognizable base element (10) that can be reproduced in a number of variants to create a range of sections suitable for different types of assembly. The base element is of essentially rectangular cross section, hollow, and extended axially at either end of the rectangle into two identical projections (12,13), likewise rectangular, but narrower and creating four stepped corners (14); each side (110) of the base rectangle carries a pair of parallel and perpendicularly projecting fins (15) at one end, and an L-shaped fin (16) at the other. The outer end (121,131) of each projection (12,13) extends transversely into a fin (19) at either side, each combining with a relative stepped corner (14) to create a square slot (114), and at least one of these fins extends into a wider, flat flange (17) the projecting edge of which affords a shallow C-shaped slot (18).
