Abstract

1. Technical Result Increase in quality of tobacco product. 2. Essence A method comprises pressing the cut tobacco leaves and treating them by vapor, after which they are subjected to microwave and/or higher frequency radiation, in particular golden-yellow leaves having almost negligible amounts of the tobacco-specific nitrosamines, when it is possible to reduce or prevent formation of carcinogenic nitrosamines in harvested tobacco leaves, The tobacco product comprises tobacco with the low nitrosamines content. 3.
