999,904. Wall-plugs; nails. U.S. EXPANSION BOLT CO. Feb. 19, 1962, No. 6328/62. Heading F2H. A bracket 10 is secured to a wall by the head 14 (which may be countersunk) of a nylon socket fixed in a hole 18 in the wall when a nail 16 is hammered through a bore 20 in the socket and into a slot 22 to spread apart the two resilient legs 24, 26 formed by the slot. The nail bears at least one thread 30, extending from its slotted head 34 for a length of the shank 32 corresponding to the length of the socket bore 20, so that the nail may be removed by a screw-driver after use. With the removal of the nail, the legs re-close and the socket may be removed for re-use. The legs 24, 26 have curved ridges 28 formed on them.
