999,757. Transistor switching circuits. COURTAULDS Ltd. Nov. 15, 1961 [Nov. 16, 1960], No. 39305/60. Heading H3T. [Also in Division G4] An alarm annunciator is actuated when a normally-closed switch C 2 and a normally-open switch C 3 simultaneously open and close, respectively. An alarm is given by a lamp flashing due to a transistor T3 being rendered intermittently conducting by a generator 2 producing negative square-pulses. When a push-button switch C i is opened to interrupt the circuit of a transistor T 2 , transistor T 3 conducts continuously owing to the potential of point B becoming that of a line L 2 which provides a smoothed negative h.t. Thus, a transistor T 1 also becomes conducting and reduces the potential of point C to that of a line L 4 which is maintained at zero potential, whereby release of switch C 1 does not cause transistor T g to become conducting again. When transistor T 3 is continuously conducting lamp 1 produces a steady light. Restoration of switches C 2 , C 3 to their normal state returns the annunciator to its original condition and extinguishes lamp 1. The alarm annunciator may be actuated by only one or other of switches C 2 , C 3 , terminals 3, 4 being opencircuited or short-circuited accordingly. An audible-warning device may be provided in place of lamp 1.
