[Also in Division B3] Reinforcing rods 1 in prefabricated concrete structures are connected by placing a sleeve 2 around the ends of the rods and filling the gap with a fluent castable material 5, preferably a metal alloy. The material may be introduced under pressure or in powder form and melted. The sleeve may be removed after the material 5 has set. In a modification the sleeve is of elliptical form.
