Abstract
999,145. Silver halide developer compositions. ILFORD Ltd. March 19,1964 [April 8, 1963], No. 13909/63. Heading G2C. A photographic developer comprises a silver halide developing agent, an alkali metal hydroxide and/or carbonate, 2, 3-dihydroxy-1, 4-dioxane and boric acid or a water-soluble borate e.g. borax. Specified developers are metol, 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone, hydroquinone, 4-methyl or 4, 4-dimethyl- 3-pyrazolidone, gentisic acid or ascorbic acid or mixtures thereof. The developer may also contain antifoggants e.g. benzotriazole, 6-nitro-benzimidazole or 1-phenyl-5-mercaptotetrazole, sulphites e.g. alkali metal metabisulphites or sulphites, potassium bromide and additional gelatin hardeners e.g. acetonyl acetone. Specification 805,120 is referred to.
