Abstract
998.732. Locating trucks in mine cages. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. Nov. 8, 1961 [Nov. 8, 1960], No. 38345/60. Heading B8E. A car is correctly positioned in a mine cage by a movable member which engages the car. The wheels W are engaged by chocks 17, 18, 19 which are mounted on rotatable axles 10, 11, 12, 13. A spring 34 urges the chocks into engagement with the wheels and a ram 36 withdraws them through linkages 32, 25, 29, 26. Connected to this linkage by levers 38, 40, 41, 43 is a signal 44 which indicates when the car is positioned correctly. If the car is not correctly positioned the bars 46, 47, interconnecting chocks on the same side, abut the wheels and prevent an incorrect signal being given until the chocks have moved the car into the correct position in the cage. Fig. 2 shows a rotary chock which is let into the rail R and has a wedge-shaped cam-surface 51. The chocks may be applied to the opposite sides of the wheels to that shown and several cars may be positioned in a cage. The chocks may be released and the signals given in any known manner.
