Abstract
998,029. Piezoelectric crystals. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 6, 1962 [April 10, 1961], No. 13345/62. Heading H1E. The supply conductors 9 of a quartz piezoelectric resonator 1 are connected to the electrodes 15 by means of a conductive paste consisting of water glass and a metal, e.g. silver, powder. The cement is applied to the tags 11 of conductors 9 and, after drying at 200‹ C., the assembly is heated in high vacuum at 500‹ C. until the cement no longer evolves gas or water vapour. Subsequently, the glass hood 5 is sealed in high vacuum to the glass or ceramic base 3 and the seal annealed to relieve stress at a temperature of 500‹ C. No further decomposition of the cement takes place during the annealing. Pins 7 are made from a chromiumiron alloy. The resonator is an AT-cut plate.
