Abstract

Anticoagulant preparations comprise heparin and 1 to 50 times its weight of a salt or complex salt of an acid polysulphuric acid ester of a polysaccharide, polyuronide, mucopolysaccharide or a partial degradation product thereof. Examples of the latter ingredient are alkali and alkaline earth metal salts of sulphation products of xylan, dextrans, cellulose, pectin and methyl glycosides thereof, pectinic acid, partially degraded pectins, chondroitin sulphuric acid, alginic acid and hyaluronic acid. The preparations may be used in the form of aqueous solutions for parenteral administration or ointments for percutaneous administration. Specifications 701,414, 746,481 and 832,093 are referred to.
