[Also in Division B1] A gas turbine plant includes distilling means for providing a distillate from a crude liquid, means for vaporizing the distillate, means for feeding the distillate directly to the vaporizing means, and means for feeding the vaporized distillate to the working fluid of the plant at a point before the turbine stage of the plant, the arrangement being such that both the distilling means and the vaporizing means heat the crude liquid and distillate respectively by means of exhaust gas from the turbine stage. A gas turbine plant comprises an air compressor 1 supplying a combustion chamber 2 and turbine 4. Any crude liquid, such as industrial waste water or salt water, is supplied by a pump 7 to a heater 8 where it is heated by exhaust gases from the turbine 4. The liquid passes through throttling valve 9 and some evaporates in evaporator 10 and is then condensed by cool crude liquid flowing through condenser 12. The distillate is forced by pump 13 through heater 14, where it is vaporized and then fed to combustion chamber 2 to increase the output of turbine 4. The vapour may alternatively be introduced before or after chamber 2. Residual liquid from evaporator 10 may be cooled by liquid tapped off through duct 15. A conduit 17 and circulating pump 16 may be provided across heater 8 to raise the inlet temperature of the crude liquid and reduce corrosion. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown) the liquid heater is not heated by exhaust gases directly but by distillate tapped off from the vaporizer.
