Abstract

An alloy of high strength and electrical conductivity consists of: - .Zr.0.2-1% .As.0.1-0.5% .Cu.the balance, the ratio of Zr to As being at least 1:5. The alloy is preferably made using oxygen-free Cu and is solution treated at 800-900 DEG C. for between 10 minutes and 1 hour cold worked and aged at 350-475 DEG C. for between 10 minutes and 2 hours.
