Abstract
An apparatus for removing dust from and for detoxicating and/or disinfecting contaminated gases by causing anodic oxidation and/or agglomeration of the contaminants thereof comprises a liquid bath G, e.g. a water bath means to guide contaminated gas into the liquid comprising opening O1, Glower M.P. and conduit R1, means immersed in the bath at a predetermined position to intercept and disperse the gases as a multitude of fine bubbles and means to which an electric voltage is connected so as to apply an electric potential to said multitude of bubbles such as perforated electrodes E1 and E2 or a perforated pipe R1 <PICT:0995496/C6-C7/1> and a set of electrodes. A float Sch may be provided in the bath which interrupts the source of electrical voltage and supply of contaminated air when the liquid in the bath falls below a predetermined level. The bath may have gas outlets S and may be acid or alkaline.
