Abstract

Compounds of the formula <FORM:0995398/C2/1> wherein R is an hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and non-toxic acid-addition salts thereof, are prepared by the interaction of an appropriate amine with sodium dicyanimide in a lower alkanol solvent in the presence of mineral acid. Suitable solvents are iso-propanol, and n-butanol. Suitable acids are H2SO4, H3PO4. Specifications 599,713, 599,722 and 631,878 are referred to.ALSO:Pharmaceutical compositions for the control of hypertension comprise <FORM:0995398/A5-A6/1> wherein R is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group, having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and their acid-addition salts. The medicament is administered orally. Specifications 599,713 and 631,878 are referred to.
