Abstract

995,115. Mixing liquids in flow in proportionate quantities. V. C. HANSEN. Sept. 25, 1963 [Sept. 25, 1962], No. 37786/63. Heading B1C. Apparatus for continuously mixing liquids in flow in proportionate quantities comprises at least two containers, each holding a different liquid at the same level, and a primary suction conduit branched off into suction branch conduits each branch conduit having the same hydraulic resistance as each of the other branch conduits one or more of which is or are immersed in the liquid of one of the containers, one or more of the other branch conduits being immersed in the liquid of the other container(s). As shown, a pump 15 transfers liquid fertilizer 4 from a container 3 to a container 13 floating in a water container 1, the supply of water through a feed pipe 18 being controlled by a float 17. A pump 5 draws liquid from suction conduits 6, 7 from each of which are branched eight branch conduits 9, 10 respectively, a conduit 10 being connected with a suction conduit 11 from which are branched eight conduits 12, one of which depends into the containers 13. Fertilizer 4 will thus be added to the water in a preparation of 1:128 or, with the conduit 6 cut off by a valve 8, in a proportion of 1: 64. The connecting conduit 10 is of such a length that the required proportions are obtained correctly.
