Apparatus for conveying fluent material comprises a rubbery endless belt 1 having a continuous bottom and side walls defining a longitudinal trough of open U-shape in crosssection, means for supporting the belt around an endless path including a horizontal curve and a roller 47 carried by a bracket 46 on a frame section 44 to engage the radially inner side of the belt at the horizontal curve to cause the tops of the side walls to converge at the roller. Fig. 5 shows a belt 501, which embodies spaced transverse partitions 503, suitable for use on slight inclines. In Specification 994,192, fluent material is retained in an inclined troughed belt without partitions by an auxiliary belt (Figs. 1 to 3, not shown).
