994,086. Valve supply circuits; filter networks. RADYNE Ltd. Aug. 28, 1963 [Oct. 9, 1962], No. 38217/62. Headings H3U and H3W. A supply lead 21 for high-frequency apparatus, e.g. the filament lead of an oscillator valve, is passed through a screening compartment 10 and escape of high-frequency energy is prevented by connecting the lead to plates 11, 13 lying respectivley inside and outside the screening compartment 10 and insulated from the screening compartment by layers 12, 14 of dielectric material, e.g. polythene or silicone rubber. Connection between the lead 21 and the outer plate 13 is made via a screening can 18 for a choke 17 connected in series with the lead. The arrangement proceeds, in effect, a low-pass # network. The direct connection 16 between the lead and the inner plate 11 may be replaced by a further inwardly-extending screening can containing a further choke. The choke or chokes may comprise ferrite tubes or beads threaded over the lead. Specification 38216/62 is referred to.
