Abstract
993,491. Electromechanical filters. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Sept. 20, 1962 [Sept. 25, 1961], No. 35788/62. Heading H3U. Coupling wires 3, 4 are attached to projections 13, 14 on the surfaces of resonators, e.g. flexural resonators 1, 2. These may be associated with transducers 5, 6 in the form of electroded plates of electrostrictive material. The coupling wires may be spot welded to the projections which are formed, e.g. by embossing or by extruding the resonator with a longitudinal rib. Alternatively, the projections may comprise two small tongues, one on either side of the coupling wire. As shown, the coupling wires lie outside the nodal lines A, A<SP>1</SP> and B, B<SP>1</SP> and transmit vibrations by bending. The filter is supported by bent wires 15-18 which lie in nodal planes and are subject to torsion. In an alternative embodiment, the coupling wires lie on the nodal lines and serve also as supporting members.
