Abstract

993,438. Malt turners. RIMER MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. Feb. 27, 1963 [March 2, 1962], No. 8114/62. Heading B1C. In a malt turner comprising a bridge structure 3 reciprocably driven by an electric motor 12 along a germinating box 1, chain and bucket elevators 13 are mounted side by side in the structure 3 with some of the buckets 26 of each elevator arranged to pick up in one direction of travel and others in the opposite direction, an electric motor 20 being provided to drive the elevators 13. Sprockets 15, 18 on each chain are adjustable to adjust respectively the tension on the chain and the distance of the lowest buckets from the germinating floor.
