993, 418. Delivering fibre tows. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Sept. 7, 1961 [Sept. 12, 1960], No. 32151/61. Heading D1D. Tows are forwarded by rollers that rotate at the same speed and provide two nips, the rollers forming the second nip being spaced farther apart than those forming the first nip. Such an arrangement may, it is stated, reduce the development of static charges in crimped continuous filament tows by permitting the tow between the nips to slip by approximately 5%. In order to vary the nip sizes the rollers 13, 14, 15 may be adjustably mounted.
