Abstract

993,390. Reciprocating pumps. CORONA ELECTRIC WORKS CO. Ltd. Feb. 10, 1964 [Feb. 9, 1963], No. 5510/64. Heading F1A. [Also in Division F4] A pump for supplying liquid fuel to a burner 27 comprises a piston 2 actuated by a magnetic plunger 6 adapted to reciprocate in a solenoid 7 fed with D.C. pulses. The piston is urged upwardly by a compression spring 5 and the plunger is urged downwardly by a compression spring 11 the upper end of which abuts an adjusting pin 12 abutting a nut 13 adjustably screwed on to an extension of the pump. The solenoid is energized from an A.C. source and a rectifier 33. The voltage is adjusted by a rheostat 34. The pump has an inlet valve 16 and an outlet valve 17. A pipe 30 returns to the fuel tank 19 fuel which leaks past the piston.
