992,888. Monorail conveyers. BECORIT GRUBENAUSBAU G.m.b.H. Oct. 18, 1963 [Dec. 15, 1962], No. 41175/63. Heading B7L. A monorail conveyer has carriages 2, 3, 4 moved along a rail 1 by a traction rope 8 passing over guides 12 spaced along rail 1, one or more of the carriages, e.g. carriage 4, having a rope reserve drum 7 on to which a portion of the rope can be wound to adjust the length of rope, the opposite end 9 of which is connected by a link and eyepiece to another carriage. A slotted flange on guides 12 enables an arm 10 connecting carriage 2 to rope 8 to pass and a tubular member 13 of similar shape houses the rope to enable it to pass the guides. The member 13 is split into two pieces held together by clamps 14 to enable the rope to be removed during winding on or off drum 7. The member 13 is connected to carriage 4 by a plate 15 to which parts of the clamps 14 may be fixed. The carriages 2, 3, 4 are spaced apart by adjustable links 5, 6.
