992, 268. Traverse drums for winding machines. P. FALLSCHEER, [trading as EMIL ADOLFF [firm of]]. May 25, 1962 [June 2, 1961], No. 20209/62. Heading D1J. A grooved yarn traversing guide Fig. 2 comprises a single shell 1 of wear resistant material of uniform thickness, the shell being formed with a depressed portion to constitute a groove 2 that extends without transverse interruption over the whole length of the guide. The shell 1 may be formed by blow moulding and may be filled with a supporting material, for example a synthetic plastic. In Fig. 3 (not shown) the shell is formed from two halves 11, 11<SP>1</SP> having wavy mating edges 14, 14<SP>1</SP>. The two halves 11, 11<SP>1</SP> may be formed by blow-moulding, deep drawing, or compression moulding, or cast. The two halves may be filled with a material that keys with holes 15 in the shell halves. The shell may be of metal, glass, or a synthetic plastic.
