Abstract
992,001. Inductors. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. April 12, 1962 [April 14, 1961], No. 13472/61. Heading H1T. The inductance of a winding is varied by varying the angle between the axis of the winding and a direction of easy magnetization of a core disposed within it. The core may consist of a single crystal having natural magnetic anisotropy or may be of magnetic material having induced anisotropy; it may be of a material having a particle structure orientated in a common direction or may be of a thin disc of crystal orientated soft magnetic material. A band pass tuner having two such variable inductor windings 3, 4 is shown.
