Abstract

991,866. Windscreen wipers. TRICO-FOLBERTH Ltd. June 4, 1963 [June 4, 1962], No. 21485/62. Heading A4F. In a windscreen wiper system, two wiper shafts 2, 4, carry cranks 6, 8 respectively, which are directly connected by a rigid coupling link 10. The wiper motor output shaft 14 carries a crank 16 connected by an intermediate link 18 to a point on the coupling link 10, or as shown to a lug 20 thereon, in such a way that the intermediate link 18 is never inclined at more than a small angle to the coupling link 10; and that in the parked position the crank 16 on the motor output shaft 14 is in line, or nearly so, with the intermediate link 18. In the parked position, the motor shaft crank 16 and intermediate link 18 block movement of the coupling link 10 and wipers 3, 5, away from the parked position. The motor 12 may be operated by compressed air.
