Abstract

991,375. Rivets. DOWTY SEALS Ltd. April 20, 1964 [Jan. 21, 1963], No. 2526/63. Addition to 883,478. Heading F2H. A modification of the rivet fastener of the parent Specification consists in providing the flange 3 with a surface facing to slit end 4 which is concavely curved except for one or more continuous recesses 9 or ridges surrounding the body 1. In another modification the surface is straight and inclined towards the slit end portion so as to lie on the surface of a right circular cone whose vertex angle lies between 60 and 160 degrees. One or more continuous ridges or recesses are provided. One or the ridge may be located at the peripheral edge of the flange.
