Abstract

1,212,871. Hobs. LEIMBACH BETEILIGUNGS G.m.b.H. 13 Dec., 1967, No. 56616/67. Heading B3K. A hob comprises a tapered leading portion, the teeth of which have rounded top cutting surfaces and the trailing flanks of which are displaced towards the leading end. Furthermore, the cross-section of the envelope of these teeth is curved, the clearance angle increases towards the leading end and the front faces have a positive rake angle. The flanks may be serrated as shown in Fig. 3.
