Abstract

982,828. Sliding clasp fasteners. AERO ZIPP FASTENERS Ltd. Dec. 18, 1963, No. 49922/63. Heading E2S. An automatically locking slider for a sliding clasp fastener comprises a slider body 1 provided with an elongated hollow cap 2 to which a pull member 3 is linked, the hollow cap being movable attached to the slider body, a leaf spring 20 extending outwardly from the cap and bearing against a part of the slider body to urge a locking finger 21 or 22 carried by a side wall of the cap into locking position, a portion 210 or 220 of the locking finger and, or, the side wall carrying the same being bent towards the longitudinal centre line of the cap whereby the tip of the locking finger is enabled to enter a gap between adjacent interlocking elements at a region close to the centre line of the fastener. In another construction, Fig. 4 (not shown) the locking fingers are displaced relative to each other longitudinally of the slider. Specification 669,587 is referred to.
