945,754. Sliding clasp fasteners. CONMAR PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Feb. 8, 1960, No. 4423/60. Heading E2S. A slider for sliding clasp fasteners of the type having two stringers with a series of spaced interlockable elements comprises a body having front and rear wings spacedly connected at one end by a neck portion 30 to provide a substantially Y-shaped internal channel and, at each side of the slider, a flange inturned from a wing edge portion, one wing having, adjacent one of said flanges, a groove G<SP>11</SP> formed on the inside surface of the wing, the groove tapering longitudinally in depth and width from a side edge part 40 of the wing and in a direction transverse to the adjacent arm of the Y-shaped channel. As shown each wing has inturned side flanges 32, 34 and grooves G<SP>11</SP>; the grooves are of saw-tooth cross-section with the wall R<SP>11</SP> nearest the channel arm vertical. This wall is aligned with the end 38 of the side flange and forms an abutment to restrain entry of garment material into the channel. Specification 781,272 is referred to.
