Abstract

990,911. Fisherman's landing nets. A. FARR & SONS Ltd., and R. E. HAINES. July 14, 1961 [Sept. 24, 1960], No. 32885/60. Heading A1A. A fisherman's landing net comprises a rod formed by two telescopic sections 10, 11, each having at least one flat side, and a locking device for positively retaining the sections in a plurality of adjusted positions. The sections are made of aluminium tube of hexagonal cross section. The locking device comprises a resilient arm 20 secured by an integral hexagonal split sleeve 21 to the outer section 10 and having a radial peg 23 which passes through an opening 24 in the outer section into one of a plurality of holes 25 in the inner section. One end of the outer section is provided with a plastic or rubber gripping sleeve 18 or with a rubber disc having a spigot screwed into a sleeve soldered into the end of the section. The remote end of the inner section is provided with a threaded ferrule 13 for receiving a stud having a transverse hole receiving one end of the multi-sectioned net frame. The other end of the frame is formed with a ring which engages under the head of the stud. Specification 990,912 is referred to.
